Article: Teen Vogue to Open Holiday "Haute Spot"

Teen Vogue is looking to attract more younger women via the blogsphere and word-of-mouth, hoping to reach their target audience by providing a place where girls can socialize in a Teen Vogue perspective. The muddled economy has impacted the marketing strategy of Teen Vogue, changing the scene of their mall tours to a "promotional destination," instead trying to sell customers something.

Positioning Paper First Draft

TEAM DOMINATE

Due to the desire of our customers, it is necessary to launch a campaign geared toward healthy eating. Market research has shown that women in their 30s and 40s in particular have stopped going to Burger Planet. In response to these findings, we feel that it is detrimental to Burger Planets success to broaden the menu choices.

Offering three salad and five fruit choices, along with white meat chicken breasts that can be wrapped in lettuce as opposed to a bun will allow Burger Planet to reach a demographic they previously have not been able to reach. Although Burger Planets policy in the past has been to offer soda as their only beverage choice, it is important to offer a more health conscious option in beverages as well.

Talk show host, Opal Witcomb has recently had guest Jayne Petersen on her show discussing women’s health and is an expert in the matter. Through this campaign it would be beneficial for Burger Planet to hire Jayne. Jayne is recognized by many and having her representing Burger Planet will legitimize the campaign.

Jayne is supportive of this campaign and believes that moderation is the key to a healthy lifestyle. She also feels with the new menu choices Burger Planet can remain a competitive and successful company by catering to the wants and need s of the customers.
This new campaign will not hinder the image of Burger Planet, it will simply improve and broaden it.

Medicare and medicaid work goes to Porter Novelli article

So, Porter Novelli, a PR agency, was given a $6 million contract to campaign (started Sept. 2) on behalf of the 2009 Medicare Open Enrollment season. I got that their main goal is to "develop and implement awareness." The two part campaign will focus on subsidies for low income persons and another to lead towards the open enrollment session in November and December. I thought this was an interesting article because neither one of my grandparents have any type of insurance and it would be great to inform them about the open enrollment. GreaT!

American Honda Reports September Sales article

I had little insight about the decline of vehicle purchasing. Working for a dealership that sells Honda vehicles, I've realized the slumps dealers are facing this year. I didn't know that Honda was down 20.9 percent and the Acura Division was down 27.5 percent compared to last years sells. The market for September seemed ill, now I know why I don't have much to do during my time spent at work. I sure hope things turn around and electric cars will be re-introduced. Interesting article.

article: Silhouette's new intiative touts beauty

The article gave detailed information about the new Silhouette campaign that's hitting America. I really didn't know glasses were taken seriously as a product of beauty, I always figured they were just something that helped my vision. It's awesome to know that there is a company dedicated to making glasses a beauty product and helping women who wear glasses apply makeup. I liked this article because it gave me more examples on how to write a press release or just to get information out to the public. Coolio!

EXCITING REALTY COMPANY OPENS IN CACHE COUNTY
ABC Real Estate seeks Investors

Logan, Utah-ABC Real Estate LLC introduces a new program called equity-holding-beneficiary-directed land trust, which was adopted from creator and partner, Bill Gatton (landtrust.net). Currently looking for investors, this trust helps home buyers simplify the complexities of buying a home and handle the changing situations within the market of realty.

The trust forms a contract with four types of beneficiaries; seller, credit, investor and resident. Credit and investment beneficiaries contribute to the trust by helping the buyer or resident qualify for a home even if they do not have good credit, a low debt to income ratio, or no down payments. The beneficiaries enable the customer to own the home and not rent it. With steady payments to the trust, the buyer can re-establish their credit history in just two years. President Preston Parker said “The system is a way of investing with a home ownership mentality.”

ABC Real Estate chose Cache Valley because it hasn’t had a foreclosure in 30 years and people in the community are willing to lend their neighbors a helping hand. Parker said he hopes to teach the community about this system and its benefits.

Since January 2008, ABC Real Estate has grown to own three companies and employs five employees. Offering home buyers a rare system, the company hopes to spread nationally.

Letter to cousin

Dear cousin,

I received your email asking about public relations. Let me give you alittle insight to the profession.

Public relations practitioners help an organization or person develop and sustain a relationship with its public or those that are important to them. They act as a mediator to ensure understanding between the different groups.

Research is a fundamental tool in successfully understanding and familiarizing a practitioner with their surroundings. With research, public relations practitioners are able to recognize the needs and interest of an organization and its public.

While changes in information and technology continue, practitioners are encouraged to continually update their sources for adjustments in data. Public relations professionals apply their findings to their daily interaction with the institution, are expected to obtain and know all aspects about the institution they work with, and are willing to supply information in a moment’s notice. Therefore, research is a pivotal step in the process of public relations work.

Public relations professionals do not have an exact set of duties, however, it is diverse, ranging from programming, forming relationships, writing/editing, sharing information, producing, coordinating special events, speaking, and researching/evaluating.

Their expertise lay within their ability to effectively communicate with an institution and its public. Professionals of this occupation are commonly writing and delivering messages with purpose and persuasion. Skilled writers are important in the industry of public relations, as well as being honest, accurate, and truthful. Professionals write about many different issues that my raise concerns or questions from a public, and the changes within an institution.

Public relations practitioners deliver their message to their audience using various media outlets, however, their main goal is to provide enough information to a decision making society and to create a trust or win/win relationship.

Sincerly,
Cousin Tasha

Rain

Today it rained. While sitting in my apartment, I tried to find that "peace" type of feeling. The setting, however, wasn't right. The smell was horrible. Wet cement and everything else this valley's got to offer filled the tight spaced apartment. I wanted to close all the windows to prevent the smell from lingering in, but the coolness of the breeze was needed. I anticipated a lightning show, but disappointed by the lack thereof. I miss my "native" land. The wet smell of sand and cedar sneaking in through the crevasses in our home to create this one-with-nature feeling. Zig-zags of electricity striking through the dark gray backdrop made from the clouds, then followed by the ground shaking thunder was something I took for granted. I miss my home. Where nothing, even rain, fails to disappoint me.
